What should a presenter do and not do to be successful.
Do’s: I am a singer since the age of 5, so, I have learned at a young age, how to work the room. Your audience wants to be entertained in somewhat the same way when giving a presentation.
Do’s: Be yourself. This is your shot at charming the audience with who you really are. Show your passion.
Do’s: Practice with a friend if you can before your professional presentation. If not, practice yourself.
Do: Try to relax by using relaxation techniques.
Do: Know the material. Do not read it from the monitor or the presentation. Have notes on the side.
Do: End with a question to engage the audience by making them part of the presentation and by making them feel important.
Don’t:
You should not take the technology for granted, test it, then, test it
again. Without the technology working, it can derail the entire
beginning. The audience will loose interest before you even start.
Don’t: Be boring. Get their attention from the beginning, and keep it.
Don’t: Do not let others in the room intimidate you. Your confidence or lack of it will show.
Don’t: Say you know or a, or ammmm. If you have a week moment, just take a breath and focus on the topic. Use intelligent words. You’re being judged so make it good. This is your chance to shine or die but, at least you have the chance! Stay confident.
